A creative writing class inspired by 15 years of the Keep Writing postcard project.

Keep Writing is a monthly mail art call-and-response offers writing inspiration with a custom print for you to keep started in 2008.

This spring I am digging through the archives to organize the 180 postcards of the past along with  the thousands of responses I've received. 

In this six week, online class, we will use I some of my favorites prompts and maybe re-write a few of the awkward ones as a starting place for new writing.  Many of these prompts were designed to be answered on a postcard. What if we give ourselves more space and time to respond?  Consider this your chance to catch up in the project, and to dive deeper into questions you may have seen before.

I've asked many questions about habits, stories, memory, goals and your community--basically a small encyclopedia of writing prompts.

Every week  I will offer a warm up, and then 1-2 prompts for writing in whatever form you prefer.  Time will be reserved for sharing and for focused writing time.  

Writers of all ambitions and inclinations are encouraged to join. Poets, story writers & essayists will likely find inspiration.Many questions are already framed for a personal narrative but options for applying prompts to other forms will be discussed. If you have a question about whether or not this class is a good fit for the writing you want to create, email me. This class will not address structure but feedback from other students will be optional but not required. 

The fee for this class is $285, and includes a one year subscription to Keep Writing (which is transferrable as a gift if you are already a subscriber), and access to recordings of the sessions.
