ONLINE Wednesdays April 24 & May 1st 5-7 pm PST (8-10 pm EST)

this class will be recorded

This introductory class is for artists and craftspeople who want to teach in non-accredited settings such as arts centers, home studios, and summer camps.

Do you have skills you want to share but don't know where to start? This 2 session , 4 hour class for artists and creatives will give you a start to proposing and creating classes. We will cover what to teach, venues, pricing and how write and lead interesting classes to inspire your students based on what you do every day in your studio. We will cover online and in-person classes too.

Our first session we will learn the basics of how to shift our skills into workshops, consider teaching philosophy and approach and where to begin.

For our second session, we will work together practicing writing classes based on your suggestions.

This is not an accredited education class but an opportunity to learn how to share the skills you have. Though it may be helpful for those with teaching experience, artists and craftspeople with no experience or background will at home here. This is an introduction but I intend to share tools for you to begin working towards becoming a teaching artist.

Fees for this class are offered on a sliding scale:

$25 supports me and the time I put into this class

$50 sustains me as a teaching artist

$75 supports another student who is not able to pay

If you are unable to pay any amount, please reach out for payment and scholarship options.
